Working together integrative counselling

Working together

We lay out the framework and expectations for our work, such as aims, duration, cancellation and confidentiality. During our work we will have occasional review sessions where we consider how we are progressing

FAQs

Some questions that commonly arise from clients

Will you judge me?

We believe in a judgement-free safe space to explore all aspects of a client’s world.

Is it confidential?

Confidentiality is key to enable a free and open relationship. The only time confidentiality would be breached is if it is believed the client poses an immediate and significant risk to either themselves or another. In this instance the need to breach confidentiality would generally be discussed with the client.

As part of maintaining professional standards, in line with BACP guidelines, work is anonymously reviewed with an accredited clinical supervisor who also abides by confidentiality standards. On a practical level all data is stored on secure SSL servers with MFA enabled.

Who do you work with?

Paul works with adults of all age ranges and has experience working with clients from diverse backgrounds with challenges, ranging from trauma, vicarious trauma, psychosis, OCD, depression, anxiety, borderline personality, eating disorders, relationship difficulties.

Natalia works with both children and adults and has experience working with clients from diverse backgrounds with a range of challenges from trauma, OCD, depression, anxiety, eating disorders, relationship difficulties, ADD and ADHD

What happens in counselling?

Counselling is individual, meaning no one session is the same and there is not a right or wrong way to be, your counsellor will support you with exploring your processes. This maybe through talking, meditation, creative works such as stones, art or sand tray and at times through simply listening and being.

Is counselling right for me?

The counselling process can be quite a challenging experience, at its core is a relationship between the client and counsellor, it is a unique space. Whilst there is an inevitable power dynamic, you will be encouraged to explore your processes, not told what to do or given “answers”. The process can at times feel frustrating or challenging, but a key component is the commitment to the process, to be able to tolerate the unknown from both the client and counsellor.
